“The key to failure is trying to please everybody” – Bill Cosby
“I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.” – Bill Cosby
I came across this quote today by Bill Cosby and this struck a chord.
What does it take to uncover the key to success? Everyone has their own two-cents worth of advice to share based on their own life experiences. In order to get to that very point where they make their mistake and take a step forward in the name of progress, they have to be self satisfied and confident of their choices at that moment in time.
People pleasing has been a creditable factor towards success and achievement amongst many in the professional world. There are numerous self-accredited advisers, but the only one they please is themselves. They do their very best and create personal bests as a mark of their achievements.
Some of the successful people with larger than life credits to their name, make a note that the role model one should aspire to follow, is one who leads the life that exemplifies what you would want for yourself one day. On that tangent, I reckon people pleasing is not completely a negative trait, depending on who you are trying to please.
It is funny how a comedian can say something simple that leads to a deep thought. Laughter is universal and enjoying a laugh while creating your own success track would be a key takeaway!
